PRAID SEISMOGRAMS

Three digital seismic stations with Centaur digitizers and Trillium Compact broadband sensors were installed in the Praid mine area to ensure high-performance seismic monitoring and real-time data transmission to the National Institute for Earth Physics (NIEP) in order to detect events that may occur inside, near or in the regional area of the PRAID mine.

These seismic stations, installed together with the permanent stations within the National Seismic Network, guarantee the acquisition of high-quality seismic data, efficient operation and reliability. This solution meets the most demanding requirements of modern seismic networks and significantly contributes to the monitoring of natural hazards and interdisciplinary scientific research.

Seismic data are analyzed automatically and manually by specialized software to calculate seismic parameters (location, magnitude and mechanism). The seismic event is analyzed automatically using data from multiple seismic stations, and the seismic source parameters are calculated automatically if the threshold of the signal generated by the event exceeds a predetermined signal threshold. For small amplitudes (magnitudes <1.5-2.0 degrees) of the recorded signal, these data are analyzed manually by specialized personnel.
